Grammy Award winning musician Andrew Dost named Grand Marshal for 2014 Homecoming
Andrew Dost, the Grammy Award-winning singer and member of pop band "Fun," will act as the Grand Marshal during Central Michigan University's 2014 Homecoming ceremonies.
Dost, a Frankfort native and a 2005 graduate of CMU, will be the alumnus honored at several Homecoming events during the Oct. 4 weekend.
“I was extremely flattered and proud to be asked,” Dost said in press release issued by University Communications. “It’s not really something I ever expected, but it’s really touching to be welcomed back in this way by a place that has been so important to me.”
During his time at CMU, Dost earned a degree in journalism while working to become a Centralis Scholar and Honors Program student.
After his graduation, Dost helped form Fun as it's keyboardist. Fun has captured the hearts of minds of young pop listeners with a slew of hits, including “We Are Young,” “Some Nights” and “Carry On.”
