Volleyball swept by Broncos; losing streak extended to four matches
The volleyball losing streak increased to four matches as the offense didn't show up in a sweep by Mid-American Conference West Division leader Western Michigan.
Central Michigan was held to its lowest hitting percentage in Mid-American Conference play this season at .106, the lowest percentage of the season since Aug. 31 against Michigan (.086).
The Chippewas dropped set one 25-17 and were looking to go into the break with the match evened up at one a piece with a 23-19 lead in set two.
But five-straight points for the Broncos gave them the 24-23 lead and they finished off the set with a 26-24 win.
WMU took the lead and the momentum into the break and rode it to a 25-15 match-clinching win in set three.
The only bright spot for CMU on the night was the play from senior outside hitter Lindsey Dulude.
Dulude led the team in kills and digs with 10 each.
Sophomore middle blocker/outside hitter Hallie Enderle provided an offensive spark as well with five kills and a .294 hitting percentage.
CMU sits tied second in the West with Northern Illinois at 6-5 in the conference.
The Chippewas will be looking for a much-needed road win Saturday night when they head to DeKalb, Ill. to take on Northern Illinois at 7 p.m.
