Volleyball sweeps Wisconsin-Milwaukee for fourth consecutive win
The Central Michigan women's volleyball continued its strong play Friday by sweeping Wisconsin-Milwaukee to open the Milwaukee-Marquette Invitational in Milwaukee, Wisc.
CMU (4-3) swept the Panthers 27-25, 25-17 and 25-23 to win its fourth consecutive game.
After trailing 23-21 in the first set, junior middle blocker Kaitlyn Schultz helped the Chippewas score three consecutive points before eventually winning the set.
Schultz and senior Lauren Krupsky combined for 29.5 points in the match, with Krupsky recording a game-high 16 kills.
After winning the second set and taking a 2-0 lead, UW-Milwaukee came out fast in the third set.
The Panthers held leads of 9-4 and 20-15, but scored five consecutive points to tie the game at 20 and win the set in come-from-behind fashion.
CMU plays a pair of matches today against Wisconsin and Creighton in Marquette.
