MSU to host diversity week
The Michigan State college of law will host "Diversity Week" from Feb 9-13 with the slogan, "Equality is a Right: Ensuring Civil and Human Rights for All." Events include panels on gay marriage, the law and intelligent design, as well as the journeys of Muslims, blind people and women in the law field. Other forums will discuss the struggles for African-American, Asian and Hispanic civil rights. A full calender of events can be found at law.msu.edu/diversity/diversity-week.html.

NBC illusionist performing at WMU
Illusionist Wayne Hoffman will perform at 9 p.m. Thursday in WMU's Dalton Center Recital Hall. Hoffman has performed on NBC's "Phenomenon" and has also been seen on TLC and the Discovery Channel. Tickets will cost $1 with a WMU student ID, $2 for the general public.
Grand Valley State University
Lecture series still taking place
GVSU will continue their "Professionals of Color" lecture series at 4 p.m. Wednesday at GVSU's Cook-DeWitt Center Auditorium with Evelyn Hu-DeHart. DeHart is a professor of history and director of the Center for the Study of Race & Ethnicity in America at Brown University. She will discuss turning the perceived disadvantage of being a woman of color in a white-male dominated society into a positive. Admission is free to the general public.
