Women's basketball falls to Ball State 83-75
A slow first half and foul trouble led to the women's basketball team's demise against Ball State Wednesday in its 83-75 loss.
The Cardinals outscored the Chippewas by 12 in free throws, shooting 90.9% from the line.
CMU was down by nine at the half, but cut the lead down to six with 1:09 remaining in the game. But Ball State went 7-of-8 from the free throw line in the final minute, holding off Central.
The Chippewas were led by junior guard Britni Houghton's 17 points and junior forward Kaihla Szunko's 10 points and 16 rebounds. Senior guard Angel Chan and freshman guard Brandie Baker each finished with double digit points, scoring 15 and 11 respectively.
