Gracin performs tonight in Finch

Finch Fieldhouse is going country.

Former "American Idol" contestant Josh Gracin and up-and-coming singer-songwriter Danielle Peck will perform at 8 p.m. today.

Gracin is known for such hits as "Nothin' to Lose" and "Stay With Me."

Sponsored by Central Michigan University's Program Board, the attraction of a major country star hopefully will bring in a lot of people, said board concert chair Dave Breed.

"Ticket sales are going pretty well right now," Breed said. "I imagine that there's going to be a big push at the door. It's good to give a good show to CMU students."

Board president Matt Burza is also very excited to put on a big concert.

"We're lucky to find a guy like Josh Gracin with a good reputation," Burza said. "I am always excited when we get a big name like Gracin that really sticks in people's minds."

Macomb freshman Megan Stawecki is very excited to be going, and is a big fan of country music overall.

"I just moved from Texas and country music is a big thing," she said. "I don't have a favorite band or anything but (Gracin's) music is pretty good."

Clinton Township sophomore Danielle Ternullo is going to be there, but she actually hopes that there is not going to be a huge crowd.

"I want to be close to the front," said the sophomore. "'We Weren't Wrong' is my favorite song."

Tickets for the concert will cost $10 for students and $15 for the public. Doors will open at 7 p.m.

Parking lot 18 on the corner of Franklin and Preston Streets by Finch Fieldhouse will be closed all day for the concert.
