Griffin Forum

Students who still are uneducated on this year's election candidates and issues have an excellent opportunity to fix that today.

At 7 p.m. in Warriner Hall's Plachta Auditorium, Central Michigan University will host the Griffin Policy Forum, titled "Election 2008: What will happen on November 4th and how will the results impact Michigan?"

A slew of educated speakers, including Michigan Republican Party Chairman Saul Anuzis and Michigan Democratic Party Chairman Mark Brewer, will discuss all the important issues and put into understandable words what students need to know before they enter the voting booths.

The panel also features journalists and pollsters who can look at each political party in a more objective manner and spark debate among each other and the audience.

If you need a question answered before making a voting decision, this forum's for you. The point of the Griffin Policy Forum is to interact with audience members instead of just have a bunch of people watch a debate on stage.

This forum is especially important for several other reasons. One, it will allow voters to connect the dots on how presidential candidates Barack Obama and John McCain can affect the state of Michigan.

Also, it will allow for discussion on some of the state races and how they could affect the lives of students in a state that's faced economic turmoil over the past few years.

We encourage students to take the time to attend this forum today and for the uneducated to get educated on what will matter to them when Nov. 4 rolls around.

With the way the state is now, it's not just about picking a side - it's about making the right choice in every political office.
