Fan support

On Saturday, the Central Michigan University Chippewas (your team) will be competing with the Western Michigan University Broncos in one of the most important (and likely, most exciting) football games to be played in your lifetime! This game will be the topic of conversation every time you meet with CMU alumni or WMU alumni for the rest of your life.

Student and fan support are very critical in the success of any team. Thus, the so called "Homefield Advantage." The Chippewa football team and coaches need your help in this game more than in any game in my memory! Your Chippewas are a very talented team - two-time defending MAC Champions! However, the Broncos are very talented, as well. And the Broncos have been greatly embarrassed for the last several years by the success of your Chippewa football team! The Broncos want to take away your bragging rights!

The Bronco team (and fans) will come to your stadium with great resolve to "reverse" the recent dominance by the Chippewas. It is expected that you will "make a lot of noise" in support of the Chippewas. Be especially loud when a BIG play is about to take place on the field.

Please plan to arrive well before the game begins to welcome your team as they take the field, and stay to the end to celebrate the victory. Please dress for the weather - it is expected to be sunny and 55 degrees. So plan to bring a jacket, sweater, etc. You can always sit on it if you are too warm.

Very few students (and fans) ever have the chance to share in such an exciting/competitive football game as will be played at Kelly/Shorts Stadium on Saturday, between the Chippewas and the Broncos!

Please be certain to treat your visitors with the utmost respect, regardless of their treatment toward you. Let's be great hosts - except on the football field!
