CMU gymnasts knocked out of championship
It was a short-lived experience for three Central Michigan University gymnasts at the NCAA Championship this afternoon.
All three gymnasts were eliminated at the end of Session I.
Sarah Dame and Katie Teft competed in their final meet as CMU gymnasts. Sophomore Kara Reighard got her first taste of the national competition.
The best finish for CMU was Reighard's 9.825 on beam which tied for 11th. She had a 9.725 (tied 20th) on vault and bars (tied 23rd), and a 9.575 on the floor for 39th place.
Her all-around score was 38.850 for 14th place.
Dame finished with a 9.750 on floor (tied for 28th), 9.725 on beam (tied for 27th), 9.700 on vault (tied for 25th) and a 9.575 on bars (37th).
She finished with a 38.750 in the all-around to place 17th in the all-around.
Teft scored a 9.100 on bars (40th).
