“It’ll be a good test for us,” said Head Coach Eileen Kleinfelter.

The Falcons are coming off a 70-62 loss Wednesday to Toledo. Lindsay Austin led BGSU with 15 points and five rebounds, while Kim Griech added 14 points and five rebounds. With the loss, the Falcons fell to 8-6 overall, 1-2 in the MAC.

The Chippewas lost to Ball State 78-70 at home Wednesday.

The game went back and forth, as CMU jumped out to a 17-9 lead after a 9-0 run that included five BSU turnovers. As a team, the Cardinals had 25 turnovers for the game, compared to Cenral’s 10.

CMU focused on MAC leading scorer and second leading rebounder Tamara Bowie for much of the game. The Chippewas were forced to double and triple team Bowie, leaving perimeter shots open for BSU. The Cardinals made CMU pay, going 11-18 from the three-point line.

Leading the way was freshman Erin Kuhl, who had a career-high 18 points.

“I thought we put in a good team effort, we all played as hard as we could. Hopefully we’ll get another shot at them in the MAC tournament,” Kuhl said.

Eidson had a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds, and felt that the team was close to earning a victory.

“What killed us the most was their three point shooting,” Eidson said. “They’re phenomenal from beyond the arc. You can’t predict that they’re going to shoot like that.”

Ball State Head Coach Tracy Roller, credited the Chippewas in shutting down Bowie. Bowie, a 2001-2002 honorable mention All-American, was limited to seven points on 3-of-5 shooting.

“We’re lucky to be leaving here with a win,” Roller said.

Head Coach Eileen Kleinfelter said she thought her young team showed a lot of poise.

“I give our team a lot of credit. We never folded,” Kleinfelter said. “We gave them a whale of a game.”

Central dropped 7-7 overall, and 1-2 in the MAC.
