Mens cross country, field hockey move up in national polls
The men’s cross country moved up from 19th to eighth in the latest Mondo Men’s National Poll conducted by the United States Cross Country Coaches Association. The Chippewas are one spot behind Eastern Michigan after a third place showing at Pre-NCAA.
The Chippewas are running at Oxford, Ohio, for the MAC at 11 a.m. on Nov. 2. The competition features 12 MAC schools , three of which are ranked in the Great Lakes Region Poll: No. 1 Eastern Michigan, No. 3 CMU and No. 10 Miami.
The field hockey team moved from No. 20 to No. 17 this week after beating Northwestern (3-0) and Ball State (2-1).
The Chippewas host Louisville and Miami this weekend. If the Chippewas win both games, they will clinch the MAC Title for the first time since 1990.
