Gray team wins World Series 6-2
The team, however, lost the World Series 6-2.
The Maroon took out its frustrations on the Gray behind the five-hit, eight-inning pitching performance from junior left hander Ryan Cremeans.
Cremeans picked up the win as the Maroon scored three runs in the fourth, sixth and seventh innings. Freshmen Brandon Shuck and Mark Lundquist had RBI singles to highlight the fourth inning, while senior Tommy Grubb and sophomore Jeff LaFavors had RBI singles in the sixth.
Freshman Chase Welker tripled and Lundquist doubled bringing him in in the seventh before freshman J.T. Jones slammed a two-run homer to right.
Senior Mike Gates capped the Maroon scoring with a solo homer in the eighth.
Shuck, Lundquist and Jones had two hits each for the Maroon.
Tim Groves drove in the Gray's lone run in the sixth with a single.
