Carnival entices students
Yell Like Hell is exactly what Maroon Cup participants did to promote school spirit as they ran through campus Friday afternoon.
Students ran in bunches through the balloon-decked streets of campus about 3 p.m., starting at the north end of campus near Larzelere Hall and ending at the Spirit Carnival at the Rose Pond to promote spirit.
The carnival kicked off at 4 p.m. and featured a Ferris wheel, a bungee cord run and a rock climbing wall, among other rides, games and events. The carnival was open to the entire Mount Pleasant community. Thanks to the new campus program fee, this thing is getting bigger every year, said CMU Program Board President Aaron Ebnit, Ithaca senior.
Lynn Hutchinson and Aarons brother Adam Ebnit, Ithaca senior, were homecoming co-chairwoman and co-chairman, respectively.
They plan all homecoming events, including the carnival, and the Program Board volunteers to run the events with other volunteers from the student body, Aaron said.
