Off the field, Turner named All-American
Junior wide receiver Rob Turner continues to prove he can get it done both on the field and off.
Turner was named first team on the 2001 Verizon Academic All-America squad.
The business major holds a 3.91 grade point average. He led the Chippewas in receiving with 50 catches for 668 yards and four touchdowns.
This is the 50th anniversary of The Academic All-American program that was created in 1952 by the College Sports Information Directors of America. Verizon, in cooperation with CoSIDA, has been the exclusive sponsor of the program since 1985.
