Third Baseman Galloway removed from baseball team

Galloway was kicked off from the team for violating team rules.

CMU Head Coach Judd Folske said it was a repeat violation.

“It is something that has been going on but the decision was made on Oct. 19,” he said. “It was strictly a baseball decision.

“We told him that the violation had to stop and it continued. He backed us up against a wall.”

Last year Galloway led the team in RBI with 62. He was fourth on the team in batting average with a .346 average.

“He is a very gifted athlete,” Folske said. “He is definitely pro material so it will be interesting to see how that shapes out.”

Folske is uncertain as to who will take Galloway’s spot next season.

“Someone else will have to carry the torch. We will compensate for him not being in the program. No one person is bigger than the program or the team.”

Mike Galloway could not be reached for comment.
