Jackson runs for honor

Jackson, who received the honor Oct. 11, gained 207 yards and scored four touchdowns against Eastern Michigan Saturday.

He shared the honor with Toledo’s Chester Taylor.

“It was a little frustrating at first, not being able to get the running game going. We knew that it would be a matter of time before we wore Eastern down and were able to run the ball,” Jackson said.

“The offensive line did a great job of picking up the blitz and opening up the wholes.”

Jackson ran up the middle for a career long 58-yard rush, in the fourth quarter.

“We made an adjustment at the half that allowed us to pick up their blitz and open up the middle of the field,” Jackson said.

He dedicated the win to the seniors especially the offensive linemen that block for him.

“I told Matt Brayton, Eric Dumont, Anders Hill before the game that this performance was for them,” Jackson said.

The Chippewas travel to Western Michigan for their final Mid-American Conference game of the year, Saturday at 3 p.m.

“This game is huge, not only for state recruiting rights but for CMU pride,” Jackson said.
