Basketball comes home again to play Ramblers

CMU continues its non-conference schedule versus the Ramblers. Loyola-Chicago is 1-2 on the season with losses to Marquette (80-70) and Tennessee Tech (87-76).

The lone win came against Mid-American Conference member Northern Illinois at home (75-63).

Guard David Bailey leads the team scoring 24 points per game. Vasilis Tsimpliavidis scores 16 a game. Ryan Blankson leads the team in rebounding at 7.3 a game.

After Sunday’s game the Chippewas travel to George Mason Wednesday at 7 p.m.

The Chippewas (2-2 overall) are coming off from 81-64 loss to Oklahoma Wednesday night.

After being down 36-34 at the half, the Chippewas went cold being outscored 14-2 in a six minute span.

The run started after senior guard David Webber picked up his fourth foul of the game, one minute into the second half.

The Chippewas committed 12 turnovers in the second half and 18 total.

They were led by junior guard Whitney Robinson with 17 points five rebounds, two assists and two steals.

Oklahoma outshot CMU 53.3 percent to 37.5 percent in the second half.

Aaron McGhee led all scorers with 19 points and 11 rebounds. Hollis Price added 17 with Jason Detrick coming off the bench for 17 points.
