Women's hoops team falls to Eastern

The CMU women's basketball team ran into a buzzsaw Saturday afternoon and the buzzsaw won.
Central (1-3) was shellacked by the Eastern Michigan Eagles (2-3) 92-55 on Saturday.
EMU's 37 point margin of victory was the largest in the short history of the Convocation Center.
The story of the game was in the field goal shooting, the Chips were 19-60 for the game a dismal shooting percentage of 31.
The Eagles meanwhile were 33-59 for the contest for an astonishing 56 percent clip, including 80 percent on 19-24 shooting in the second stanza.
"We had a tough time," CMU Head Coach Fran Voll said.
Sophomore Molli Munz led the Chippewas off the bench with 13 points while Vershaun Jones added 10 points and a team-high 5 rebounds.
Dru Bishop led the Eagles with a team and season-high 23 points while Kristy Maska added a season-high 17 points. Brooke Raths was a monster down low for the Eagles pulling down 10 boards.
Voll made a couple of changes in the starting lineup as senior Shelly Woods and sophomore Alicia Rozak sat down in favor of a pair of freshmen in Abby Lawinger and Beth Kindel.
Lawinger had two points on 0-6 shooting from the field while Kindel netted five points. Woods had seven points and Rozak did not score.
"We changed it up a little bit," Voll said. "These were changes we felt we needed to make and felt comfortable making especially in a non-conference game."
As part of its schedule this season, Central will take on the Eagles twice more in MAC competition, as EMU visits Rose on Jan. 29 and the Chips travel to Ypsilanti once again on Jan. 11.
