Director of Strength and Conditioning Jason Novak leaves Central Michigan
Central Michigan Director of Strength and Conditioning Jason Novak is departing from the program.
A source close to the athletic department confirmed the news to Central Michigan Life, and Athletic Director Michael Alford is now tasked with hiring someone to fill his shoes.
Novak was not fired or pushed out from the program. Rather, he accepted a new job that is currently unclear.
CMU Athletics declined to comment on Novak's departure.
When hiring a strength and conditioning coach, Alford will likely take into account the opinions of multiple coaches, including first-year football coach Jim McElwain.
During the 2018 season under former football coach John Bonamego, Novak was in his fourth campaign since coming to Mount Pleasant from the NFL's Tennessee Titans. He was the assistant strength and conditioning coach for the Titans from 2004-15.
Novak earned his bachelor's degree from Stephen F. Austin and his mater's degree from Baylor.
