For the first time, WMHW-FM composed of Mountain 91.5 and The Beat 101.1 will participate in College Radio Day.

The two student-run Central Michigan University radio stations have special events and programming planned that will begin Nov. 4 for 24 hours until Nov. 5.

The stations will broadcast live out of their normal studio in The Jerry Henderson Radio Complex in Moore Hall and on top of the roof of Brooks Hall. Prizes will be given away including George Lopez tickets, free haircuts and more.

The day is nationally recognized to encourage people who wouldn't normally listen to college radio stations to do so.

"Radio in general is a very flexible market," said Sean Lathrop, WMHW news director. "Not many markets are going away, they're just switching to online. We want to remind people how great radio is."
