Flash Forward: A look at Central Michigan football’s post-bye week schedule

Junior wide receiver Jesse Kroll catches a pass for a touchdown against Toledo Saturday at The Glass Bowl stadium in Toledo, OH.
After this weekend’s showdown with Akron, the Chippewas will have a week to recoup but not relax.
Here is a quick look at CMU’s remaining schedule and what fans can expect based on what has transpired on the field so far this year.
8 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 10 vs. Toledo
This is the biggest game of the conference schedule for the Chippewas. Toledo enters their bye week ranked No. 20 in the nation and in sole possession of the Mid-American Conference West Division’s top spot.
Led by quarterback Phillip Ely and running back Kareem Hunt, the Rockets blew through their nonconference schedule and have aspirations of making a major bowl game this winter.
CMU will be well rested and the Rockets will be fresh off a tough divisional game at Northern Illinois. If the Chippewas are able to pull a victory out in this one, the MAC West title is CMU’s to lose.
8 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 18 at Kent State
The Golden Flashes have had another rough season this year. KSU stands at 3-5 overall heading into this weekend’s hosting of Buffalo and has put up some of the worst defensive efforts in the MAC, especially late in games.
This could be a hallmark game for quarterback Cooper Rush and the CMU offense that needs to be clicking as well as possible as the fast-paced postseason approaches.
TBA on Friday, Nov. 27 vs. Eastern Michigan
This will be CMU’s least-attended home game of the season and probably its least competitive, too.
The Eagles’ lone victory this season came at Wyoming and EMU has lost six games since. It does not get any easier for the team from Ypsilanti, which must play Western Michigan, Miami (Ohio) and UMass before coming to Mount Pleasant.
