Tumpkin resigns as CMU football defensive coordinator
On the same day the Central Michigan University football team welcomed 18 high school recruits to the program, the Chippewas defensive coordinator resigned.
Joe Tumpkin, CMU's defensive coordinator for the past five seasons, has coached nine All Mid-American Conference selections at CMU.
Tumpkin's resignation comes less than two weeks following the resignation of former head football coach Dan Enos.
CMU Athletics has given no comment or any updates on the head football coach search. No timetable for Enos' replacement has been set.
